Sumatra - Medium

coffee

Origin: Sumatra
Roast Level: Medium
Process: Wet-Hulled, Patio Dried

With Notes of: Vanilla, Melon, Nougat

You know our Sumatra. Now meet it from a whole new angle. We took the same coffee behind our staple Sumatra and gave it a medium roast, revealing a completely different side of a Rook classic. The lighter roast brings forward notes of melon, nougat, and vanilla, creating a cup that's smooth, sweet, and surprisingly bright while maintaining the full body Sumatra is known for.

More about the bean: This coffee comes from North Sumatra, Indonesia, where small, family-owned farms are common and coffee is traditionally processed using the region's distinctive wet-hulled method. After the coffee is pulped and partially dried, the parchment is removed while the beans still contain more moisture than they would in a traditional washed process. The beans are then dried the rest of the way before being prepared for export.

We recommend storing whole bean and ground coffee in an airtight container, in a cool, dark place - like your kitchen cabinet, not the fridge!
