More about the bean:
This coffee comes from Las Piedras, a small 1.5 hectare farm perched high at 2,000 meters above sea level. The farm is cared for by Álvaro, a lifelong coffee producer who works the land alongside his wife with patience, consistency, and pride. Álvaro grows Caturra, a traditional varietal in the region, and relies on a simple, well-practiced process. His coffee is fermented for 36 hours without water and patio dried, allowing the natural character of the coffee to shine through clearly in the cup.

Coffee has long been part of Álvaro’s family history, but for him it represents more than tradition. Throughout decades of change and hardship in Nariño, he chose to grow coffee as an honest and legal livelihood, even during periods when illicit crops dominated the region. Today, he remains hopeful about the future, with plans to renovate his farm, improve his wet mill, and continue refining quality.

Grind matters! In order to get the best extraction out of the brew method of your liking, select the appropriate grind setting. We'll take it from there. Not sure what setting to choose? Check our grind setting FAQ here.

We recommend storing whole bean and ground coffee in an airtight container, in a cool, dark place - like your kitchen cabinet, not the fridge!
